Embryologists

argyrou embryologosShe was born in Athens. She studied biology at the University La Sapienza of Rome. She conducted her PhD in the Biology department of the University of Athens, where she specialized in the effects of growth factors in fetal development. She was trained in Clinical Embryology and she is working in this field since 1992. She is one of the founding members of the Laboratory of Clinical Embryology of the Assisted Reproduction Unit "Embryogenesis". She has been specialized in several areas of clinical embryology that include among others: the ICSI, the biopsy of embryo cells as well as the technique of freezing embryos by vitrification. Finally, she is responsible for the sperm and ova donation programs of our clinic.

paraskevi embryologosShe studied Biochemistry and Pharmacology at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. Then she conducted her PhD in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Birmingham, England. She worked as a researcher for two years  at the University of Manchester and Cambridge, in England. Then she returned to Greece, where she is working as a Clinical Embryologist in the Assisted Reproduction Unit "Embryogenesis" since 1998.

She studied Molecular Biology at the University of Siena in Italy, from which she graduated with honors in 2004.

Since 2005 she is working as a Clinical Embryologist at the Assisted Reproduction Unit "Embryogenesis" specializing in ICSI, in the biopsy of embryos, in the vitrification of embryos and oocytes, as well as in the analysis and preparation of the semen. She has attended many seminars and conferences and she is a member of ESHRE.

 

mentorou embryologosChristina Mentorou was born in Athens in 1982. She studied Biology at the National University of Athens and graduated in 2005. She conducted her dissertation at the National Research Foundation. Then she continued her postgraduate studies at Bristol University in England, from which she graduated with scholarship by completing the Msc by Research in Clinical Biochemistry. Since January 2007, she is working as Embryologist at Embryogenesis. At the same time, she is participating in research programs with the collaboration of the immunology department of the Maternity Hospital "Elena Venizelou" as well as Harokopeio University.

 

Dr. K. A. Economou PhotoKonstantinos A. Economou was born in Athens in 1979. He studied Βiology at the University of Crete, followed by studies in clinical embryology, embryo biopsy and fetal medicine at the University College of London. He specialized in clinical embryology (ACE Certificate in Clinical Embryology) and worked since 2003 as Senior Clinical Embryologist in world renowned IVF clinics in London, while since 2009 he is working as Consultant Clinical Embryologist in Embryogenesis. In 2017 he was awarded a PhD diploma in Clinical Embryology by the University of Athens Medical School. He is an expert in embryo biopsy for Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD), while he is Quality Manager of the PGD laboratory in Embryogenesis. He is responsible for the birth of the first children in Greece employing the technique of polar body and blastocyst biopsies followed by karyomapping genetic analysis of the embryos.
